Controller
The controller for this website is Christoph Barradas, Bahnhofstrasse 35a, 85386 Eching, Germany. Email: hello@foxdesk.me.
Basic principle
FoxDesk does not use Google Analytics, advertising tracking, or embedded third-party analytics services. The website only stores simple technical counters to understand how often the site is visited, FoxDesk is downloaded, the app is used, and a connection is established.
Website access
When you access the website, technically necessary access data may be processed, for example IP address, date and time, requested file, and browser information. This is required to provide the website, detect errors, and maintain security. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Hosting via STRATO
This website is hosted by STRATO. STRATO may process technical server log files when the website is accessed. According to STRATO, web hosting log files are provided with anonymized host names or anonymized IP addresses; log file archives are available in the customer area for the last six weeks. Retention can differ depending on security or operational requirements.
Simple website statistics
The website uses a cookie named fd_vid for internal statistics. This cookie contains a random visitor ID and is used to associate page views with a returning browser. The FoxDesk dashboard does not store IP addresses, names, email addresses, or browser fingerprints.
Downloads
When you download FoxDesk, a download event can be stored. This can include time, download type, target file, and the random visitor ID. These data are used only for simple download counts.
App usage
The FoxDesk app can send a simple usage ping when it starts. This can include a random installation ID and the app version. The installation ID contains no name, email address, or direct contact details. It is only used to roughly count active installations.
Connection status
The FoxDesk app can send connection status information at the start, during, and at the end of a connection. Stored information can include a random session ID, the two FoxDesk IDs involved, connection status, start time, last ping, duration, and optionally the app version. PINs, passwords, screen data, file contents, chat contents, or IP addresses are not stored in the FoxDesk dashboard.
Storage period
Internal FoxDesk statistics for page views, downloads, app usage, and connection status are stored for 90 days and then automatically deleted. Technical server logs of the hosting provider follow the provider's retention rules.
Contact
If you contact me by email, your information is used to process your request. The data is deleted once the request has been handled and no statutory retention obligations apply.
Contact form
If you use the contact form on foxdesk.me, your name, email address, subject, and message are transmitted through the server to the email address listed in the imprint. The message is not permanently stored on the website server. For troubleshooting and abuse prevention, FoxDesk may only log that a contact form was sent successfully or that a sending error occurred; the message content is not stored in the statistics log.
The processing is used to answer your message and handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for contractual or pre-contractual requests and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR for general requests and bug reports.
Donations via PayPal.Me
If you donate via PayPal.Me, you are redirected to PayPal. The payment is processed by PayPal; PayPal's privacy information applies in addition. FoxDesk does not store bank, credit card, or PayPal login data on foxdesk.me.
Depending on the payment, PayPal may show me information such as name or profile name, email address, amount, payment time, message/payment reference, and transaction ID. These data are processed for handling and documenting the donation and for fulfilling legal obligations.
Your rights
Within the legal requirements, you have the right to access, rectification, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
